CLIMATEWEATHER SCIENCE Updated Every 5 Minutes Idyllwild Climate Summary A new feature on our site is the daily snapshot of weather conditions in neighboring communities. The fun part is seeing how weather changes with altitude, proximity to sunrise and sunset events, how far East or West, and what side of a mountain range. The following towns are provided for comparison: Idyllwild (Idy), Hemet (Hmt), Beaumont (Beaumt), Palm Desert (PD) and Temecula (Tem). Precipitation chart only shows during a rain episode. Tonight, Cafe Cinema presents a classic noir, HE WALKED BY NIGHT. It's Richard Basehart's film role and it's a great one. He plays Roy Martin, a clever thief who is also on the far mental fringe. He is a cop killer that outwits the entire police force with the help of his profound understanding of modern technology. Basehart utterly excels as the alienated villian who prowls the streets of LA at night. This is the film the recent NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN was heavily based on. HE WALKED BY NIGHT also as the distinction of being one of the beautifully filmed noirs of all time. Be prepared for a real noir treat.

Issue: Lost Cat Cat Name: Peanut 1st Reported: Thankgiving 2011 Where: Marion View Dr./Mc Mahon Rd MAP Peanut, a 8-year-old cat, has been missing since Thanksgiving Day. She was last seen near Marion View Drive and Mc Mahon Rd. in Idyllwild. She is all black with yellow eyes and weighs about 10 pounds. She has tiny paws. There was no collar or ID tags. Peace is commonly understood as the absence of hostility, or the existence of healthy or newly healed interpersonal or international relationships, safety in matters of social or economic welfare, the acknowledgment of equality, and fairness in political relationships. Every Monday 10:30 AM Idyllwild Library 54185 Pine Crest Ave. Free MAP Kid Alert! Idyllwild Public Library hosts a weekly children's storytime reading every Monday morning at 10:30 AM. Some of the greatest children's books are covered including James and the Giant Peach, Charlotte's Web, The Mouse and the Motorcycle, Harriet the Spy, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Idyllwild is home to one of the finest art high schools in the world. The coexistence with a very artistic base community helps define our little town as regional creative hub. Parents from every corner of the world send their children to Idyllwild Arts. When viewing, it will be easily apparent what makes the campus in the forest so special. 
Local painter, Matthew Wettlaufer, has returned to his hometown of Idyllwild to focus on his passion, abstract painting. Diane A. Rhodes, columnist for the Press Enterprise newspaper, has written a wonderful article on Matthew's biographical details and what he has been up to since moving back to Idyllwild. Community arts, aka "dialogical art", is that art that is generated in a community setting, i.e., a group of people working together. Works from this genre can be of any art forms and is characterized by interaction or dialogue with the community. Every Monday night at Town Hall, under the talented supervision of local artist Judith Schoenbaum, young and old can participate, for a nominal charge, in a very invigorating art form. MAP Idyllwild's 'coolest' health food establishment is serving the 'hottest' soups for the winter. Chef Cathy Brown, has the natural knack when it comes to making something scrumptious out of purely healthy ingredients. Idyllwild has a new bike shop. The Hub Cyclery can handle all bicycle repairs, old and new. They are open for business now, mostly on the weekends, and they are located about a block up from town center at 54425 North Circle Drive. They have morning group rides leaving from The Hub Cyclery.
